Only 2 weeks to go until I head off to @eyeforpharma Patient Summit, will I see you there?

The time is almost here for my jaunt down to London where I will be speaking at the eyeforpharma Patient Summit Europe, on October 15th. It’s been a busy 12 months for me since I attended last years event and I am looking forward to hearing how the industry has evolved, what new approaches are being used and who is at the forefront of change regarding patient engagement, delivering value, innovation and, especially, patient-centricity.

At this year’s event we’re hosting more interactive sessions than ever before. Engage with your peers and patients in these patient-led roundtables, moderated by industry facilitators. We will also be discussing how to improve training, education and language, how to build lasting partnerships and to ensure pharma is delivering value to patients.

16th Annual

PATIENT SUMMIT EUROPE

15 – 16 October, 2019 | Novotel West London #efppatient

Pharma’s home for
patient-centricity
in Europe

The Patient Summit Europe is home for all the leaders who work with patients and consists of dedicated tracks for both commercial and R&D:

Digital: Co-design with patients by establishing scalable capabilities to involve patients in solution design.

Scaling Engagement: Focus on the biggest unmet needs and help fill the gaps by creating a community of patient participants willing to contribute to science.

Commercial: Where Commercial = Co-created with Patients. Understand patient needs to achieve transformative impact to patient outcomes.

R&D: Unlock patient-centric creation by collectively stepping up to enable patient data return.

You can now browse the agenda to see who’s speaking, and when, what they’ll be showcasing, and all the other activities that will be taking place across the 2 day event. The event will be opened with an address by Dr Paul Wicks, who I had the pleasure of meeting recently at the #RAREsummit19 held at the Wellcome Genome Campus at Cambridge. An event organised by the Cambridge Rare Disease Network.

It was fantastic to sit and chat to the man who devised the Patient-Included guidelines, brought to life Patients Like Me’, and who also is a care-giver to a couple of family members with chronic illnesses whilst balancing that with a normal family life… with his wife and children against his working life. Not an easy task for anybody. Paul has recently taken on a new role over at HealthUnlocked as the ‘Chief Scientific Officer’ and set up his own business leading him onto a new journey in his life. An inspirational professional leader from the world of medical healthcare, also very kind and respectful of patients. Looking forward to seeing him again in a few weeks time.

“For 2019, we have a practical focus on transforming the whole pipeline – R&D, clinical trials and commercial – demonstrating how patient-led design can reduce cost whilst driving effectiveness and value.”

After this event we hope that you will leave with a clear vision and a path for scaling patient-centricity and patient engagement in R&D. Patient-centric leaders will share their experiences on how to co-design to empower patients through a fusion of technology and culture.

Here’s a look at some of the key industry speakers:

Of course this event has been co-designed with patients in line with the guidelines of ‘Patients Included‘ involving them throughout the whole event.
