Being involved and seeing things change is something that as patients we get excited to see. I mean how often do such changes really happen.  Regarding pharma’s current day issues we happily took part in eyeforpharma Barcelona 2018 where Sonia, and myself, were lucky enough to help facilitate round-tables.  A completely new experience for us both because a) we had never worked together before like that, in that kind of capacity, b) it was the first conference we had ever attended and c) we had never facilitated round-tables before either!

Little did we know that it would feel like we’d found our calling and now we were lucky enough again to be involved in a new conference that has developed from an idea thrown forward at Barcelona in March 2018. This made us part of a team of people that have helped to bring it life when it premiered in London October 2018. And it went to Philadelphia the following week and to Barcelona in March 2019.

Getting heard and learning

A fantastic and satisfying way to get our patient voices heard and to be given the opportunities from eyeforpharma to be so closely involved.  It was down to them that we have learnt about current pharma issues as we really were novices, and still have a lot to learn yet too, but taking part is helping us to understand it using the best method possible, by getting out there and physically doing it.

Carole has taken part in panels and also as a social media partner since the acquisition. She attends many of their events online in an attempt as a patient to keep up to date with current pharma trends.
